Week 12 Blogpoll Ballot- Darts Again
I know what every last one of you is thinking right now, but what you don't know is that you never ever ever fuck with the CK award!
Awwww, goddammit. Not again. For the record, the CK Award claimed yet another victim as Cal fell to 6-4 against USC. And what part of "do not #&$! with the CK Award" does Russ Levine of Football Outsiders not understand? Especially as Michigan is playing not guaranteed-to-blow-it Michigan State but rather Oh God Ohio State this weekend?
#*$@. Just... just... goddammit. The appearance of two other Michigan blogs, including this guy, doesn't help either. Hoist upon my own Picard.
I'm doing this for all our sakes. You can thank me later! I only watched the part where Georgia was kicking the shit out of Kentucky, and while I was watching that, I was thinking that I was watching one of the top five teams in the country. The final score doesn't back me up, but those 30-some minutes I watched did. I hate to say it, but Va. Tech and tOSU both looked good this weekend. And believe me, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Without Dixon, I wonder if Oregon is even a top 25 team. But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Arizona St. beats UCLA by four, but there is absolutely no one else to step up and take that spot from the Sun Devils. Everything else, you can blame on the whims of the darts in my hands.

John,
I haven't commented on your blogpoll all year, even though I thought you might be just a shade pessimistic about the 'Eers. But, then, after they lost to SFla, I thought you might be right. However, I still think you might have them a bit lower than they deserve. How many times have we read about how the WVU game was the 'biggest' game ever for teams facing them (SFla, Cincy, UConn), or how this was the game for the team to launch back into the national scene (UMd, Louisville)?
So while the scores were closer than you might like (well, maybe not the UMd game), consider that all year the Mounties have taken the other team's best shot and, except for SFla, survived.
I saw part of the OSU-Mich game... there's no way OSU played better than WVU. UGa has been hot, so I won't argue with you on that. Not sure I'd give VaTech that much credit yet (UVa tagged Miami worse and, these days, that's not saying much).
I'm not saying you should change your ranking (it's yours, after all), but there's room for debate.
nvaeer, the only reason I don't have WV at #3 or higher is I do not want to fuck with the CK award. Anytime someone over-values their team against the rest of the blogpoll bad things happen. And I wouldn't be doing my part if I didn't move them down when we are so close to getting a shot at the National Title game.
Thank you very much for your comments, and please do comment on anything you don't like! Otherwise, I think I'm spot on. And I know that isn't the case.
Johnny,
I like the conservative playcalling you have going on here. No need to push the envelope with the voting. Thank you for thinking ahead.
Johnny,
Okay, you have a point about the CK award jinx... don't want to screw with the cosmos just yet.
Yeah, it really does happen every week with the CK award, at least for the last two years that I've been apart of the blogpoll. I'm not normally superstitious, but I just couldn't forgive myself if I got struck with the CK karma.
And J, that video of the kid getting the boot on your page freaked me out!
