On a Sad, Serious Note...

I don't care what the rest of you think, but I like NASCAR. Well, I used to. The television coverage of NASCAR over the last several years has been a notch or two below god awful. But I still catch the occasional race and try to follow the news. I also have a feeling that if and when we ever actually get readers, there will be a few NASCAR fans among the millions dozen of them.

On that note, there's some sad news coming out of NASCAR land, Benny Parsons, 1973 Winston Cup Champ, succumbed today to lung cancer at the age of 65.

Growing up, NASCAR was about the only sport I shared with my father as we religiously spent every Sunday watching cars turn left for 4 hours and continues to be the number one subject of our occasional telephone conversations. I am too young to remember Benny Parsons as anything other than a commentator, but those memories are fond. He always seemed to me to be the only person who actually knew what he was talking about. He made the broadcasts bareable, and I mean that in a good way.

In the modern NASCAR world, where "boogity boogity boogity" is apparently a great catchphrase, BP continued his fine ways of actually watching the race and giving meaningful, insightful comments. His contributions will be sorely missed.

Hockey, NASCAR, what's next a square dancing review?

And while you're hypnotized by 4 hours of left turns and a parade of boner-in-a-bottle branded cars, I will be listening to David Hobbs' superexcellent commentary on "those little cars" in Formula One.

"And Kimi overtakes Michael into turn 3! Wow! How many NASCAR passes is that worth?"

Nascar sucks and so do you. Kobe!

Nascar does suck, but not as bad as Maryland basketball. The Iona games are over boys. Welcome to .500 and enjoy looking up at VT and FSU.

Watch your mouth you red headed slut, at least Maryland has won a conference championship within the past few years , not to mention a national championship... Has WVU ever come in second in the Big East? I am sure they won the Atlantic 10 with powerhouse's such as Rhode Island, St Bonaventure and dont forget St Joseph's

Keep living in the past. It's as good as it's going to get. But there is some good news. At least Garrison won't have to serve 6 months in Chino and then go door to door to tell everyone in the neighborhood he's sex offender.

Don't be bitter. Just because you are 1-3 with a team of 6 Srs. and 3 Jrs. Oh, that is a perfect reason to be bitter. This is as good as it's going to get for a while. Well you still have football. Hahahahaha.

At least I can live in the past, you guys cant live in the past present or future.. Your hall of Shame for basketball at WVU is one player..#44 .. he was good but still only one player
And Maryland does have a National Championship in football, sadly they are all dead now ...
Is Pittsnogle and Gansey delivering pizza's now????Is that WVU football player accused of rape allowed back at South Bend??
